Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. It’s designed to relieve chronic muscle tension, stiffness, and pain by applying slow, firm pressure and deep strokes.
  • Relieves chronic pain: Especially in the neck, back, and shoulders.
  • Reduces muscle tension: Breaks down adhesions (knots) and improves flexibility.
  • Enhances blood circulation: Promotes better oxygen and nutrient flow to tissues.
  • Improves posture: By relaxing tight muscles and balancing the body.
  • Reduces stress: Deep, mindful pressure encourages relaxation and mental calm.
Therapists use their fingers, thumbs, elbows, or forearms to apply sustained pressure along the muscle fibers and fascia (connective tissue). It’s common to feel some mild soreness after the session — a sign of deep muscle release and healing.
  • Immediately after surgery or injury
  • If you have blood clotting disorders or take blood thinners
  • During pregnancy (unless recommended and performed by a trained prenatal therapist)
  • If you have skin infections, open wounds, or inflammation
  • Duration: 60–90 minutes
  • Focus Areas: Neck, shoulders, lower back, or legs
  • Often combined with aromatherapy or hot compresses for enhanced relaxation
